We’ve had a few successes with living aboard lately. We had a first-ever, just-for-fun cruise on the boat. the sailing club headed to Willow Berm the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Nothing bad happened! We didn’t break anything. Nobody got hurt. We even had fun socializing and getting to know SSC members. Mark flew the drone and captured a gorgeous sunset!

I did not get skunked. I never expected dealing with a skunk to be part of sailing life. The too-comfortable SSC skunk that lived below our dock was captured and released across the river. But not before trapping me one Friday morning. Never thought I’d have to call my boss to say I was going to be late to avoid a skunk!

There’s been a Lighted Holiday Boat Parade on the river to downtown Stockton. I served cornbread at the chili and cornbread dinner. I even made TikTok-style Brookies for the cookie exchange. We’re settling in and having fun.

Today, we are living through the second atmospheric river to hit the Bay Area. We are rocking and rolling in our slip again. Only it’s colder this time! I took a short video that doesn’t even capture what it’s really like. I’m learning to type, read, and cook while rolling side-to-side.

I declared today a ‘don’t fill your cup to the brim’ day!
