About SV MACH 5

Hi, I’m a 1990 Endeavour 42 CC

A 42′ center-cockpit, sloop sailboat made in Largo, Florida. I’ve lived in the east coast, the west coast, in saltwater, in brackish water, and even in freshwater! I’m on my fifth set of owners – Mark and Christiana. I’ve lived for years at Stockton Sailing Club on the San Joaquin River in the California Delta. After almost two years with Mark and Christiana, I’ve sailed my way south along coastal California into Mexico!

Early on

I’m proudly Made in America! My first name was Mon Jouet, which is French for My Toy. My primary propane tank still reads that!

As Hull #247, I’ve also been called Sea Wink and Phoebe Too. I was most likely designed by Bob Johnson who went on to Island Packet fame.

Fun fact, when Mark and Christiana went to the Annapolis Boat Show in 2018, the only monohull they viewed was an Island Packet.

Current

I am registered as MACH 5. This started as a fun, retro thing for Mark who loved to race home from school to watch Speed Racer!

They were going to buy a catamaran but the winds changed and they fell in love with me! ?

I’ve had a name-changing ceremony to honor Neptune and my bow is emblazed with the five-ball!
