some days–perhaps even many days of late–are one step forward and two steps back.
- we find the water leak that is making the water pressure pump run over time. however, it’s a 3-day fix because skills and parts.
- Mark fixes a leaky valve on the water tank but it takes three fixes, the third kind of sealant to hold. so a project that should be a few hours in one day plus curing time is really weeks. ?♂️
- I finish reading a book on marine heads (toilets) and the waste management system only to be confused by the various recommendations of the book vs. IRL tribal knowledge…and, why a hose seems to go to almost no where. ?♀️
these are all just part of the growing pains of learning every inch of our new home. what is wonderful are the things that don’t faze us anymore.
- Mark isn’t overwhelmed by the engine room.
- Mark knows now to bleed fuel lines underway.
- my years of critical thinking is paying off for solving weird problems.
- my tiny hands are paying off as I can reach into tiny places.
- I have figured out how to make ice! ?
we spent two glorious weeks away from the boat, visiting family, taking an offshore marine medical class with TRU Crew (like-minded people who are clients of the same consultants), and seeing the coast in van life and photographer life!
it’s day 77 at the boatyard in Point Richmond. we may see the light at the end of the tunnel!
